A $1,000 scholarship for a college-bound Bartlesville senior who, like Burk, has made serving others a way of life.
About the Award
Honoring a life of service
This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Madison Middle School student Burkley Hansen, who was suddenly taken from us in April 2015. Burk was active in his church and local Boy Scout troop and loved athletics — especially basketball. His last journal entry ended with the words “Focus on other people. Service.”
Each year we award $1,000 to a graduating senior who reflects that same spirit of putting others first.
Eligibility
Who can apply
- 1.College-bound senior (any gender)
- 2.3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- 3.A clear, demonstrated focus on serving others through school and community involvement
